Protect Landmarks in Monopoly GO with U4GM Shield Advice

Monopoly GO shields keep your landmarks safe from Shutdowns. Collect them by landing on shield tiles, and keep a few stocked before logging off so your hard-earned upgrades stay protected.

It's easy to treat shields as background loot until a landmark gets hit while you're away. In Monopoly GO, they're your board's automatic cover when another player picks a Shutdown from a Railroad space. A few saved shields can protect the cash you've already poured into upgrades, which matters when you're also using rolls for goals in a Monopoly Go Partners Event. You don't need to switch anything on. The game handles the defence for you when an attack comes in.

Finding Shield Pickups

Shields are collected by landing exactly on a property space carrying the small shield symbol. It's not a reward you claim from a menu, so your route around the board matters. Once you pick one up, that symbol leaves its current space and shows up somewhere else later. You'll soon notice that chasing a distant pickup with a huge multiplier isn't always worth it. If a shield is a few spaces ahead, though, that can be a sensible moment to raise your multiplier and take the shot.

Meter Limits and Overflow Rewards

Your shield meter sits near the cash display in the upper-right corner of the board. Newer players usually hold three shields. As Net Worth rises through landmark building, the meter can grow to hold as many as five. Reaching the limit isn't a reason to ignore shield spaces either. A pickup collected with a full meter turns into extra dice rolls based on the multiplier you're using, so it still has value.

Why the Meter Is Worth Checking

A stored shield stops a Shutdown before it can lower a landmark or create another repair bill. The other player still gets a much smaller payout, but your board avoids the expensive part. Every protected strike uses one shield, so the meter can empty faster than you expect if several players visit your board. That's why many players take a quick look at it before closing the app. It takes seconds, and it can save a lot of rebuilding later.

A Simple Pre-Exit Routine

Before you put the game down, check whether shield symbols are nearby and whether your meter has room. If you're empty, a few careful rolls may be better than leaving every landmark exposed. If you're full, landing on another pickup can return dice instead. And if you choose to buy Monopoly Go Partners Event Slots, keep some rolls aside for maintaining your shield supply as well as pushing event progress. That small habit makes your board much less stressful to leave unattended.
