Start With the Right War Plans Choice
Put your early War Plans points into Meat Brothers. Filling the Threat meter then calls in two chained Butchers instead of the usual Hellborne attackers. They hit hard, but defeating them is worth the risk because they often provide Profane Mindcages. On Hardcore, do not rush this fight. Keep space, watch the chain pull, and save an escape skill for the moment both enemies close in. Make Every Helltide Kill Count
Profane Mindcages raise the level of Helltide monsters by one per use, with three active at once for a total increase of three levels. Use them only when you are ready to maintain a fast route; wasting their duration on long trips cuts into your results. Higher-level enemies offer stronger rewards, while packed groups give you more individual chances for the Trace of Echoes. The aim is not one lucky fight. It is a steady stream of kills.
